ZeroBounce included on the 2020 Inc. 5000 list

ZeroBounce on the Inc. 5000 list: “I was in awe… 40?!”

“When I heard the news that we placed in position #40 for the fastest-growing companies in America, I was in awe…. 40?!” ZeroBounce Chief Operating Officer (COO) Brian Minick says.

“When you and your team push really hard every single day on details such as making the experience with customers better, trying new things, challenging processes, tapping different markets and adding new services to your offerings, it’s more obvious how we progressed so fast,” Brian adds.

Brian took over as COO of ZeroBounce almost two years ago.

“I’ve never looked at a workday as ‘9-5’ – it’s always been 24/7 for me, and work is just part of my life,” he confessed in a recent interview we did for Thrive Global. His mindset is part of what makes ZeroBounce successful.

“Achieving a rank that high is a major accomplishment for us. I’m proud to say that the hard work and efforts our team puts in really shows. I couldn’t be more proud of what we all have accomplished as a team in the last year. We thank all of our customers for the support along the way!”

Inc. 5000 list 2020
“The 2020 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019,” Inc. magazine explains.

The Inc. 5000 companies generated more than 1 million jobs

Introduced in 1982, the Inc. 5000 list recognizes the most successful privately-owned small and midsized businesses in North America. The magazine brings valuable insights into how this dynamic economic segment evolves year by year.

Many brands – including LinkedIn, Microsoft, or Yelp – have gained their first national exposure by making the Inc. 5000 list.

Last year, ZeroBounce ranked 851st in the top. Jumping up to no. 40 – in just one year – is thrilling for all of us, including CEO Liviu Tanase.

“It was a great day when Inc. announced to us that we made the list again. But companies don’t find out their rank until a few days later. So, about a week after they gave us the news, they revealed our position on the list: 40! ‘Thrilled’ doesn’t begin to describe how I felt!” Liviu told me.

Here are some important numbers the magazine has revealed about this year’s Inc. 5000:

  • The companies on the list achieved a three-year average growth of over 500% and a median rate of 165%.
  • The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $209 billion in 2019.
  • The companies on the list collectively generated more than 1 million jobs over the past three years.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

ZeroBounce email validation

How you’ve helped ZeroBounce evolve

ZeroBounce was founded in 2015 and became fully operational in 2017, as an email validation and list enhancement service. A team of less than 10 people – which has now grown to 30 – worked hard to make the platform the best in its space.

How did we do that?

First and foremost, by listening to you: we read every single review, email, or comment on social media and use your feedback to develop new features.

“ZeroBounce has grown so much and so fast because we’ve listened to our customers, identified market gaps and problems, and came up with ways to respond to them,” Liviu explains.

“From day one, we wanted to build a reliable and powerful platform and give businesses all the tools they need to email successfully. At one point, we realized email verification wasn’t enough anymore. Sending emails with the confidence that they’ll land in the inbox takes more than that. So we listened to our customers and added more tools every year,” our CEO says.

Summer 2018: Launch of the A.I. email scoring system

For instance, months after ZeroBounce became available, you told us how challenging it was for you to sort through catch-all emails. Our system detects and isolates them from your list, but knowing which ones were valid and safe to email was problematic.

Here’s an example of a review you left on Capterra:

validate catch-all emails

We knew solving this problem in the market was key, so, in the summer of 2018, we launched the ZeroBounce A.I. email scoring service. This tool will score any kind of email address but is particularly useful when it comes to validating catch-all emails.

A while later, we introduced the email scoring API to make it easy for you to automate this process.

Spring 2020: Launch of the ZeroBounce Deliverability Toolkit

Fact: 31 billion emails bounce every day and almost 20% of emails end up in the spam folder. Poor email deliverability is hurting thousands of companies. Every email that doesn’t reach the inbox is a missed opportunity.

Using an email validator is a great place to start repairing the health of your list. But we wanted to give you even more ways to improve your deliverability.

Fast-forward to April 2020: we launched the ZeroBounce Email Deliverability Toolkit, which includes two testers to help you reach your subscribers:

  • the email server tester
  • and the inbox placement tester, which you can find on the same page, by accessing the link above.

Read all about the two email deliverability tools and how they can help you!

What’s more, another tool is on its way!

Thank you so much for your support and stay tuned for updates – ZeroBounce is only getting better.

“For decades, Inc. has welcomed the fastest-growing private companies in America, and this year’s set of winners places the bar very high indeed,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk.

“Companies that made the list, on average, have grown sixfold since 2016. During a stretch when the economy grew just 15%, that’s a result most businesses could only dream of.”
