Let’s Talk About Email: Cezar Mitrenca

This time around we talked with ZeroBounce’s own Cezar Mitrenca. As one of the leaders of ZeroBounce Customer Support team, Cezar is a wealth of resourcefulness and service and has helped thousands of people. Read on to learn why he unsubscribes and who from history he would most want to email.

So, let’s talk about email!

The best email you received today:

The best email I received was from a ZeroBounce client who’s an email marketing rookie. I gave him some advice and pointed him to some quality articles to learn about this field. I wanted to be sure he knew the necessary steps for a successful email campaign. He was so happy that he sent a long email about how much I helped him. He even gave us a review on every review page out there!

The last email you sent:

The last email that I sent was for a monthly project that we are working on. The entire support team is working on it.

Your biggest email pet peeve:

I guess when my email lands in spam or is lost in a sea of hundreds of unopened emails and then someone asks for it.

How often do you check your email?

I check it six or seven times a day, just about every day. I love when my inbox is clean. I only keep emails in my inbox that I intend to return to.

The word or phrase you most use in your emails:

The phrases I use often are: “Let me know if you have any questions” or “We hope this helps”.

The best thing about sending a newsletter:

The idea of helping people with useful, educational content – and turning them into fans of your brand.

If you emailed any famous person, who would it be – and why?

I would’ve loved to email Steve Jobs. I really enjoyed his perspectives on products and how to be useful to the client. Also, I know this requires some imagination since he was around thousands of years ago: I would’ve loved to speak with Socrates. His thoughts on society and ways of living are valid even today.

Who is the person you don’t email enough?

No one comes to mind. I try to be as communicative as possible so there are no regrets.

The newsletters you look forward to the most:

I look forward to receiving books or flight promotions.

An email you wish you’d never sent:

I don’t regret a lot of things. I don’t remember regretting sending an email. However, there was an email back in college that I was sorry I didn’t see, although I did receive it. Because of not seeing it, things took an interesting turn. At that time, it seemed like a bad thing, but in hindsight I’m glad at how it turned out.

An email you’d be happy to get:

There are a lot of emails that have made me really happy. I don’t have anything specific in mind, but I’d be happy to get any email that surprises me in a good way.

To inbox zero or to not inbox zero?

Inbox zero, of course. I highly recommend it for everyone. There may be some things that are relevant or may interest you that get lost in the inbox. There just may be an email that you would have missed that will make your day.

No. 1 reason why you unsubscribe:

When I receive newsletters that I didn’t subscribe to. I unsubscribe almost immediately from those.

The biggest no-no in an email campaign:

Using words that denote urgency or with many exclamation marks. When I see this type of email, I tend to delete it or simply ignore it.

The best way to grow your email list:

Do it step by step and don’t skip over any of the best practices since that may affect your reputation. Slow and steady wins the race every time.

One thing that should change about email:

In newsletters, I think the tone should be more like talking to an acquaintance. If it’s personal, it makes me want to read the whole email, every time.

A brand email you always open:

I open most of the emails I receive, because I have a curious nature and want to see what they say. The ones I don’t open are spam.

What do you most love about email?

I love that email is fast and you can reach people all over the world in just a few moments. Through email I can exchange ideas and documents with just a click.
